Processing power

= cycle speed * operations/cycle * Cache_speed_improvement

Processing power is what you want more of, not speed, as long as the cycle speed is instant.

Please note
Processing power may not be the term other sites use or sell computers as. The best way to tell performance is to benchmark. I suggest PCWizard for windows.

Cache improvement is realateed to the cache size and speed .

Attempts at showing processing power

Amd sometimes uses a number value, that is supposed to be the effective processing power compared to an Intel chip.

Amd and Intel both use different processor brands. A better make processor will have more processing power.

Other factors that effect noticeable speed

Not enough Ram, paging file usage(hard drive is slow, paging files causes massive lag)
Slow Bus(the processor can only process as fast as the information can get there)
Slow Ram(same as one above)
Slow Hard drive(IDE harddrives are slow, sata is better but still slow, use RAID if you have a lot of hardrive lag)
Slow Internet(lag between you and the internet cloud)
Low Bandwidth Internet(when downloading large files)
Slow Servers(if your on the internet a site may be slow, and it really doesn't matter what you do to your computer, you can only get it as fast as they send it)
