Introduction

The web has gone throughfundamental changes in ideas about how content should be lets start with Web 1.0

What is Web 1.0?

Web 1.0 started in 1994 with the birth of the web. Web 1.0 was static and used plain HTML. This was good for the time because Internet Speeds were low as low as 14.4kb/s. With that low speed you couldn't load the things you can load today.

Browsers were in competition, starting with Netscape and Internet Explorer. They both creating proprietary settings.

To send and obtain data email was used.

What is Web 2.0?

Web 2.0 is the modern web.It contains wikis, blogs, file sharing and open source content. Web 2.0 is fundamentally supported by a new use of technology known as AJAX. AJAX allows a page to be partially loaded without loading the whole page. Previously something similar was done in web 1.0 using frames, but had the downside of being unusable by search engines. Web 2.0 is the idea that more people make the site better. For example Youtube.com allows users to upload content and post comments. The more users, the more content the more value to the user. This is the power of Web 2.0
